This Saturday, July 5 th New Egypt Speedway will be celebrating 4 th of July in a big way. For the second year in a row the annual Military Heroes 30 will benefit the Wounded Warrior Project with $2 from ticket sold being donated to the charity. Racing on Saturday night will be the 358 Modifieds, Crate Modifieds, and the NERS Sprints. Following the final feature of the night the Speedway will have its annual 4 th of July fireworks display.
There will be a silent auction set up in the picnic area featuring great items including a signed Brad Paisley CD; signed t-shirts from the World of Outlaw Sprint and USAC events at New Egypt; a signed Hoosier Tire banner from the Dirty Jersey event; signed sheet metal from drivers Neal Williams, Ryan Simmons, and Matt Budd; NASCAR collectables and much more. All proceeds from the silent auction will also go to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
The Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders Corrine and Michelle will be in attendance to meet and greet with the fans in the picnic area from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Fans will be able to get autographs and pictures with Corrine and Michelle who will be dressed in their game day gear. Also set up in the picnic area will be RC2U for the kids to take a spin behind the wheel on their RC car track. Sam’s Club will be set up on the fan concourse offering military members a $20 welcome package when they sign up for a new club membership. The first 50 children through the front gates will receive a goodie bag courtesy of Neal Williams and everyone in attendance will receive an American Flag.
Pit gates will open at 3 pm, front gates will open at 4 pm, hot laps will begin at 5:15 pm, and the first green flag will wave at 6 pm. Adults are $20, seniors 65 and older are $18, teens 12-15 and active military and their spouses are $10, and children 11 and under are free.
